His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince; and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, Friday night consented to attend the DPMM FC Annual Gala 2006. Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed on arrival at the Empire Theatre of the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong, by the Vice Chairman of the DPMM FC, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim as well as other members of the club. Also present was His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik.
At the event, His Royal Highness consented to cut a cake to the tune of a birthday song by a choir of the organising committee. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also received a pesambah (gift) from the Vice Chairman of the DPMM FC and another pesambah (gift) from the DPMM FC, the Royal Brunei Airlines, Maju Motors, Brunei Shell Marketing, the DST Group and Riverview Hotel.
The climax of the gala night was the presentation of the DPMM FC’s Player of the Year Award that His Royal Highness consented to present in recognition of the recipient’s contributions and outstanding performance. The Player of the Year 2005 was Pengiran Haji Hamzah bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman.
His Royal Highness also consented to present the Long Service Award to two recipients, Awang Mohammad Ali bin Haji Momin and Awang Mohammad Helme bin Panjang. The Crown Prince subsequently consented to present momentous to sponsors of the DPMM FC which comprised of the companies, Seri Sentosa, Maju Motors, Mitsubishi Corporation, the DST Group, the Royal Brunei Airlines, Brunei Shell Marketing and Riverview Hotel. Before taking their leave, Their Royal Highnesses consented to a photo session with members of the organising committee.
