His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made a working visit to the Training Institute of Royal Brunei Armed Forces in Penanjong Garrison yesterday.
The monarch was greeted upon arrival by Deputy Minister of Defence Pehin Datu Singamanteri Col (R) Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yasmin and Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi.
His Majesty later inspected a guard of honour mounted by 110 personnel from the third battalion before being briefed on the training institute's organisational structure by Lt. Col Hj Said B. Hj Putih, the commander of the institute.
The working visit brought His Majesty to the gymnasium, dining hall, school of studies, recruit company and course company. His Majesty also visited the 30-metre shooting range, where His Majesty tested his shooting skills with silent, automatic and stainless pistols as well as Heckler & Koch firearms before proceeding to meet the army personnel.
His Majesty also signed a parchment and received a souvenir from the commander of the training institute.
The working visit ended with a group photo session and exchange of greetings with the personnel at the training institute.
