Royal messages to Queen Elizabeth II

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Mr Tony Blair, the Prime Minister on the occasion of the Queen's Birthday a press release from the Prime Minister's Office said.

In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had been established between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. His Majesty wished that this would be fostered and further enhanced in the future for the mutual benefits of the two countries and peoples.

His Majesty also expressed hope that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II would always remain in good health and happiness and the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland would always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

At the same time, in a similar message, His Majesty congratulated the Prime Minister Mr Tony Blair and the Government and People of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on this occasion.

His Majesty expressed satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations that had been long established between the two countries. His Majesty also expressed wishes that this will be maintained and enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples. His Majesty also wished Mr Blair good health and happiness and also wished prosperity for the people of the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade also sent a congratulatory message to Ms Margaret Beckett, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the occasion of the Queen's Birthday a press release from the Ministry Foreign Affair and Trade, said.

His Royal Highness in his message expressed great pleasure in presenting his warm congratulations to Ms Beckett and to the Government and the People of the United Kingdom on the Queen's Birthday, together with his respects to Her Majesty and the Royal Family.

His Royal Highness said that the people of Brunei Darussalam placed great importance on the traditional close friendship and cooperation they have with the United Kingdom.
