Eleven babies delivered at RIPAS Hospital on July 15, the birth date of His Majesty, were awarded special prizes yesterday afternoon.
A prize presentation ceremony for the newborn babies took place at RIPAS Hospital with Datin Hjh Salmah, spouse of the Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Adanan, as the guest of honour.
The Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in the Belait District recorded seven deliveries on the auspicious birth date of His Majesty the Sultan.
A prize giving ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at the hospital.
Datin Hjh Norhayati bte Hj Abu Bakar, wife of the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, presented gifts to the parents of the babies.
Datin Hjh Salmah awarded babies born at the RIPAS Hospital with $100 cash presented by TAIB Bank and hampers packed with baby necessities.
A new born baby boy weighing 1.28kg from Tutong District also received the prizes yesterday at RIPAS Hospital.
One recipient told the Bulletin she was very pleased with all the prizes presented and felt lucky with her baby girl born on July 15.
At the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Datin Hjh Norhayati presented goodie bags and hampers filled with baby necessities from the Belait District National Committee for His Majesty's 60th birthday celebration and TAIB Account 'Si Manja' with $100 credit.
The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Dato Awang Haji Dani took part in the berzikir ceremony and the tossing of bunga rampai.
Dayang Malessa Tingang Anyie delivered Belait District's first July 15 baby, weighing 2.77 kilos, at 2.20am. The last delivery on July 15 was by Dayang Dida Nursandah Warno, who gave birth to a 3.275 kg baby at 11.39pm.
