Local youths, who are musically inclined, are given the opportunity to be part of the royal birthday performance which is part of the 'Bersama Rakyat' event that will be held on July 23.
A three-day rehearsal is currently being held in preparation for the upcoming event. Present at the event was Awg Mohd Abdoh bin Hj Awg Damit, head of the D Arts, Department of Co-curriculum, the Ministry of Education.
Awg Mohd Abdoh mentioned that the present band began with the cadet selection and formation in December 2005, and was further expanded with the addition of the guling tangan group.
The orchestra includes guling tangan, modern musical equipment as well as military oriented band. The musicians have been selected from various bands from the Brunei Muara District, which have been auditioned prior to the establishment of the band.
