Around 22 foreign media groups are covering His Majesty's 60th Birthday celebrations, making it the biggest foreign media coverage this year.
The foreign media groups include Rex Picture Limited, Nippon Television, Reuters, UK Press Limited, AP, EPA, Colours Meteors Design Magazine, AST, SIPA Press, RTM, Channel News Asia (CAN) and TV Cambodia.
In terms of foreign media coverage, it is second only to the royal wedding between His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and HRH Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.
The one-and-a-half-month-long celebration is undoubtedly one of the biggest celebrations for the nation and everything must fall in line for it to run smoothly and perfectly.
The Media and Publicity Section at the Information Department is ready to provide assistance to the foreign media groups covering the royal birthday celebration, where over 50 foreign media personnel are expected to cover the event.
Several media relations officers will also provide input as well as accompany and assist the foreign journalists, making sure everything runs accordingly. They are also given press and media kits. A media centre has also been set up at the Centerpoint Hotel.
Some of the foreign journalists are planning to stay up to 2 weeks to provide coverage of the momentous event.
