His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to send congratulatory messages to Mr Jacques Chirac, President of the Republic of France and Mr Dominique de Villepin, Prime Minister of the Republic of France on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of France.
In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had so long been established between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of France. His Majesty expressed confidence that both countries had much to look forward to in the pursuit of shared ideals and objectives for the benefits of the two countries and people.
His Majesty also hoped that the President of France and the Prime Minister would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of France to always enjoy contributed progress and prosperity.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, conveyed his best wishes and congratulations to Mr Philippe Douste-Blazy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Republic of France on its National Day. "I have much appreciated the contribution made by your people in Brunei Darussalam to the cultural, social and professional life of our country and look forward to continuing our work together to enhance the excellent relations shared by our countries," His Royal Highness said.
