Royalty visit Reichstag Building

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah arrived in Berlin to continue their fourth day programmes of the working visit to Germany, RTB reported.

On arrival at the Tegel Airport, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were greeted by the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Germany, Dato Paduka Haji Ali bin Haji Hassan.

In Berlin, His Royal Highness will meet the Federal Foreign Minister of Germany.

In the afternoon of the first day's stay in Berlin, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness proceeded to visit the Reichstag Building.

The Reichstag Building was constructed to house the original parliament of the German Empire. It was opened in 1894 and housed Reichstag until 1933. It again became the seat of the German parliament in 1999.

One of the attractions at the building is its dome. It is also a building, which receives the largest number of visitors in the world. More than two million people visit the building every year.

Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses during the visit were His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Prince Abdul Qawi.

Earlier, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince paid a call on the Prime Minister of the State of Hesse, Roland Koch.

The meeting took place at the Hessen State Chancery Building, Weisbaden. During the meeting, His Royal Highness and Roland Koch exchanged views on ways to strengthen the existing warm and friendly cooperative relations especially in education. - Borneo Bulletin (13th June 2006)
