Congratulatory messages to Philippines on occasion of 108th Independence Day

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines on the occasion of the Independence Day Anniversary of the Republic of the Philippines.

In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the great progress in bilateral relations and co-operations between Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines. His Majesty also expressed his hope that this will be maintained and further enhanced in the future both bilaterally and in Asean.

His Majesty also hoped that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Philippines would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of the Philippines to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent his warmest congratulations to Alberto G Romulo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, and to the government and people of the Philippines on the 108th Anniversary of their country's Independence Day.

His Royal Highness said it had been a pleasure working with the Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs and he was very pleased that the bilateral relations between Brunei and the Philippines continue to grow in friendship and co-operation.
