Dirgahayu Emas Diraja Concert, one of the grand highlights lined up for His Majesty's 60th birthday celebration, will be held tonight, August 12, at 7.30pm at Jerudong Park Amphitheatre, Jerudong.

A rehearsal for the event was held Thursday night.

The concert is set to be another colourful and memorable event for this year's celebration, after activities such as the International Tattoo Performance 2006, International Halal Products Expo and Malam Serumpun Seri 60.

Among those expected to perform tonight are groups from Brunei Shell, dancers from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and artistes from Indonesia such as Iyeth Bustami.

The concert will feature a variety of song and dance performances, which can be divided into four stages, namely the pre-show performances, 'kebeberangkatan' (arrival) of His Majesty, performances during 'Santap' (dinner) and lastly the full-swing performances.

The programmes for the night also include presentations from school students during the arrival of His Majesty.

The concert is expected to attract large crowds to the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre, Jerudong. - Borneo Bulletin (12th August 2006)
