By Hj Minor Absah

Her Royal Highness Princess Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah gracing a healthy baby competition in the Brunei Muara district observed that accidents and tragedies affecting children in their homes shouldn't be happening as home was supposed to be a safe haven for them.

Such accidents should be avoided by taking precautionary measures and serious attention at places frequented by children.

Stressing on the importance of safety for defenceless children the Princess went on to remind parents to give proper instructions to domestic helpers who are given the responsibilities to care for their children.

Domestic helpers should be implicitly instructed on child care safety and children should be made aware of the dangers of imitating scenes from the TV.

Her Royal Highness made the sabda at the Baby Contest organised by the Women's Institute (WI) yesterday.

More than 370 children had registered this time for the competition in the Brunei Muara district, compared to 250 entrees last year.
