Crown Prince concludes Manila visit

His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, yesterday was awarded by Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo with the 'Order of Lakandula' in recognition of His Royal Highness' leadership and dedication.

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah met President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the First Gentleman, Mr Miguel Tuason Arroyo at the Manila Polo Club.

Also present was Prince Abdul Qawi.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness and President Arroyo exchanged views on bilateral relations between Brunei and the Philippines and expressed satisfaction with the excellent progress of cooperation between the two countries.

His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah concluded an official visit to the Philippines yesterday, a press release from the Prime Minister's Office said.

Their visit was upon the invitation of Philippine President Gloria Macpagal-Arroyo. Before leaving the hotel, a prayer was read by Pehin Khatib Hj Awang Hamidon bin Pehin Dato Hj Awang Abdul Hamid.

Present at the Bulwagan Kalayaan Villamor Airbase to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses were Brigadier General Rolando Capacia, Wing Commander of the Philippine Armed Forces; Mr Yen Macabenta, Chairman of the Philippine Billiards and Snooker Congress; and Virginia H. Benavidez, the Philippine Ambassador to Brunei.

Also present was Emaleen Abdul Rahman Teo, the Brunei Ambassador to the Philippines.
