His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Inspector-General of Police and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman, who are on an official visit to Singapore, yesterday consented to pay a visit to the Gurkha contingent.
Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by Singapore's Commissioner of Police, Dato Seri Pahlawan Khoo Boon Hui, RTB reported.
Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses was Prince Abdul Qawi.
During the tour, Their Royal Highnesses were presented with a demonstration on military efficiency and skill in facing obstacles. Subsequently, Their Royal Highnesses were invited to watch a demonstration on endurance drill by the Gurkhas.
Their Royal Highnesses also consented to view an exhibition of weaponry and uniform of the contingent.
The Learning Centre where children of the Gurkha contingent study, was also visited by the royalty.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also consented to tour the 'Home Team Academy'.
His Royal Highness was again welcomed by Singapore's Commissioner of Police, Dato Khoo Boon Hui and Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police, who is also the Chief Executive of the 'Home Team Academy', Loy Chye Meng.
While at the facility, His Royal Highness was presented with a briefing by the Chief Executive.
His Royal Highness then consented to watch a firearms demonstration. Accompanying His Royal Highness during the tour was Prince Abdul Qawi and the Minister in Attendance, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Law and Ministry of Home Affairs, Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who showed an interest in the facilities provided at the 'Home Team Academy', also tried his prowess at using light firearms.
The Crown Prince also watched a demonstration by the Police on the various scope of skills in dealing with crimes.
His Royal Highness consented to receive greetings and mingled with officers of the Royal Brunei Police currently undergoing training in the Singapore.
On Tuesday, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri consented to grace a dinner reception given by Singapore's Commissioner of Police, Dato Khoo Boon Hui, at the Dining Hall of Senior Police Officers' Mess.
Prince Abdul Qawi was also present.
At the reception, His Royal Highness consented to receive a 'pesambah' in the form of a sword. Known as 'Temasek', the sword is an honourary symbol of the Singapore Police Force. The sword was presented by the Singapore Commissioner of Police.
