His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam congratulated President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on the occasion of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran, today, a Press Release from the Prime Minister's Office said.
The Press Release said, "His Majesty has expressed his satisfaction on the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that have so long been established between Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Iran. His Majesty hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.
"His Majesty prays to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala that Mr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will always remain in good health and happiness and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran will always enjoy continued progress and prosperity," the statement further said.
Meanwhile in a similar message Brunei's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah extended warm greetings to his Iranian counterpart Mr Manouchehr Mottaki, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a Press Release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said.
His Royal Highness congratulated the Minister and presented his best wishes to the Government and the people of Iran on their National Day, the statement said.
The Press Release quoted His Royal Highness in his congratulatory message wishing Iran much success in their work during the coming year and looking forward to further opportunities to enhance the two countries' friendship and cooperation.
