His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, have arrived in Munich for a seven-day working visit to the Republic of Germany, RTB reported.
On arrival at the Franz Josef Airport in Munich, Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by Bavarian State Chief of Protocol, Mr Axel Bartlet. Also present at the airport to greet Their Royal Highnesses was Brunei Darussalam's Ambassador to the Republic of Germany, Dato Paduka Haji Ali bin Haji Hassan.
During the visit, His Royal Highness will meet with high-ranking officials, including Germany's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeie, the Deputy State Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Bavaria, Mr Gunther Beckstein, the Federal Minister of Interior of Republic of Germany, Mr Wolfgang Schauble, and the Prime Minister of the State of Hesse, Mr Roland Koch, RTB reported.
While in Germany, Their Royal Highnesses will also attend the FIFA World Cup 2006 Opening Ceremony at Munich FIFA World Cup Stadium and watch a few World Cup matches in Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin, RTB reported.
Their Royal Highnesses' itinerary will include visits to the Reichstag Parliament Building and the German Historical Museum. This is Their Royal Highnesses' first working visit to the Republic of Germany, which will further enhance the existing warm and friendly relations between the two countries, RTB said.
Diplomatic relations with the Republic of Germany were established in 1984. During the working visit, Their Royal Highnesses are accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and Prince Abdul Qawi, RTB said.
HRH the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office began the first day of his working visit to the Republic of Germany Thursday by holding a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Bavaria, Mr Gunther Beckstein. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Interior of the State of Bavaria. At the meeting, His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation to Mr Gunther Beckstein for the reception and hospitality extended to him and his delegation, RTB said.
His Royal Highness also congratulated Mr Gunther Beckstein and the people of the State of Bavaria for hosting the FIFA World Cup Finals 2006.
His Royal Highness expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Germany.
His Royal Highness wished that Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Germany, particularly the State of Bavaria, could further develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation especially in the areas of education, tourism, trade and investment.
In the evening, His Royal Highness attended a dinner hosted by Mr Gunther Beckstein at the Garden Restaurant at the Beryischer Hof Hotel in Munich. Accompanying His Royal Highness were His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and Prince Abdul Qawi, RTB said.
