New envoys receive & present credentials

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday presented credentials to newly appointed High Commissioner and Ambassador of Brunei to the friendly nations. His Majesty also received credentials from three newly-appointed foreign envoys to the country. It was held at the Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty presented credentials to Pehin Datu Penglima Colonel (rtd) Hj Abdul Jalil B. Hj Ahmad, the newly-appointed High Commissioner of Brunei to Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Emaleen bte Abd Rahman Teo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei to the Republic of the Philippines.

His Majesty also received credentials from three newly-appointed ambassadors and high commissioner of friendly nations to the country.

His Majesty received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China, Yang Tanyi.

His Majesty also received credentials from Andreas G. Skarparis, High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus who is based in New Delhi and Alfredo Raul Morelli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentine who is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam yesterday granted audiences to the three new envoys to the country. At the Balai Penghadapan at Bukit Kayangan to discuss bilateral matters were Yang Tanyi of the People's Republic of China, Andreas G. Skarparis of Cyprus; and Alfredo Raul Morelli of Argentina.

Yang Tanyi was the Deputy Director General, Department of Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. - Borneo Bulletin
