His Majesty the Sultan has consented to send a congratulatory message to Hajatole Eslam Seyyed Mohamed Khatami, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of its national day.
In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that have long been established between Brunei and Iran. His Majesty hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.
His Majesty also prays to Allah that Iran President Mohamed Khatami will always remain in good health and happiness and that the people of Islamic Republic of Iran will always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.
Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, also sent a similar congratulatory message to his counterpart, Kamal Kharrazi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and to the government and people of Iran on their national day.
His Royal Highness said he appreciates the friendship and goodwill shared by the two countries and looks forward to continuing their work together to enhance these warm relations.
