Gift of houses and lands

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present land lots to recipients under the Kg Rimba, Gadong Housing Plan and house keys under Kg Rimba, Gadong Indigenous Citizen Land Scheme, Kg Ayer Relocation Scheme in Kg Mata-Mata and Kg Rimba, Gadong for the Brunei-Muara District.

The presentation ceremony for the 190 recipients, of which 164 were for land lots, took place at the Sekolah Rendah Rimba II at the National Housing Scheme of Kg Rimba, Gadong.

Greeting His Majesty on arrival were the Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam-cum-Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Laila Utama Awg Hj Isa; Minister of Development, Pehin Dato Dr Awg Hj Ahmad Hj Jumat; and Brunei-Muara District Officer, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Adnan Hj Hanafiah.

The Brunei-Muara District Officer, in his welcoming speech, highlighted that the awarding of land lots and houses is a clear proof of His Majesty's government's determination and efforts in implementing national policies to ensure all citizens and residents are provided with lands and houses.

After the presentation of keys and land titles, His Majesty consented to plant a sapling before touring the primary school.

Later His Majesty began a series of visits covering residences of recipients and several government and private firms in Gadong. His Majesty first visited the Rimba II Primary School, where more than 650 students are currently studying.

His Majesty also visited the JIS, Gadong Power Station 2 and went to Beribi Light Industrial Estate II and visited Grand Motors, Worldwide Motors, QAF Centre, Kingston Beverage and Creamery Sdn Bhd, Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, Jati Transport Sdn Bhd and BINA. - Borneo Bulletin (18th Mar 2005)
